Job description:

Greenspring Associates is growing! We are looking to hire an Accounting Manager to join our Finance Team. This could either be a full or part-time position.

This position will be responsible for providing fund administration services within the PE industry. The primary focus of this position is to review financial reporting for certain investment funds prepared by Fund Accountants, while also preparing a subset of financial reporting for other investment funds to be reviewed by the Controller. Growth opportunities may include assisting with accounting related investor communications. This position will report to the Controller.

Responsibilities:

The financial reporting function will require this position to do the following:

  • Prepare and review weekly accounting schedules
  • Prepare and review monthly journal entries and bank reconciliations
  • Prepare and review quarterly financial statements
  • Prepare and review schedules for the annual audit and interact with auditors for year-end audit, as needed
  • Maintain general ledgers
  • Assist in managing cash flow needs
  • Create and maintain an effective control environment
  • Assist in file maintenance/organization and other administrative tasks
  • Various other tasks, projects and deadlines that arise in relation to above
  • Management responsibilities include:
    • Uphold delivery timelines communicated by the Controller
    • Ensure Assistant Controller and CFO are in the loop with any and all complexities or issues
    • Solicit feedback on process
    • Deliver feedback to Controller and CFO on Fund Accountant performance

Although not the primary responsibilities of the role, there is potential to assist with:

  • Assist in preparation of fund communications for our investors, including Limited Partner requests
    • Distribution and Capital Call Notifications
    • Assist in quarterly report distribution
    • Assist with K-1 and tax related forms
    • Assist with LP transfers
  • Assist in maintaining partner database
  • Assist in answering Limited Partner requests

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 2+ years of experience in fund accounting, fund operations or public accounting
  • Computer literate: Microsoft Office especially Excel
