Associate / Senior Associate

Greenspring Associates is growing! We are looking to hire an Associate/Senior Associate to join our investment team to help us find, analyze and make investments across our venture investment platform.

What’s Involved

Responsibilities

As a core member of our tight-knit investment team, you will take part in the full spectrum of venture capital investing, including but not limited to:

  • Assisting with the sourcing and evaluation of potential venture funds, expansion stage start-up and secondary investment opportunities
  • Monitoring a sub-set of the existing Greenspring fund and company portfolio, reporting to the investment team on progress and projections, and preparing quarterly reports for our investors
  • Performing broad scale industry research and analysis to learn about and understand industry landscapes within our focus areas, and advising the broader investment team accordingly
  • Leading and supporting teams as necessary to tackle new initiatives
  • Participating in the planning and execution of the Firm’s Annual Meeting in Deer Valley, Utah
  • Your opinion will be highly valued and your initiative to dive into white spaces and help the entire Greenspring team learn about new industry focus areas will be welcomed

Skills/Qualifications Required

  • 3-5 years (5-7+ for a Senior Associate) working in venture capital, private equity, finance, engineering, start-up operations, consulting or similar industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • A true passion for the venture capital industry

  • A willingness to support all areas of our business, including our fund and direct investment strategies, both on a primary and secondary basis

Portfolio Impact Analyst

We are currently seeking a Portfolio Impact Analyst to join our team. The Portfolio Impact team is fully dedicated to supporting the companies as well as the venture capital firms in which Greenspring is invested, primarily by facilitating valuable connections to potential customers, strategic partners, service providers, executive talent and investors

What’s Involved

Job Description/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and foster relationships with members of the Greenspring Associates community, including venture capitalists and portfolio company management teams
  • Help direct portfolio companies address various pain points ranging from executive level hiring, customer introductions and forming strategic partnerships
  • Build strong relationships with Greenspring’s Strategic Advisory Board and other executives and connect them as appropriate with relevant underlying portfolio companies
  • Build relationships with accelerators, incubators, angel groups and micro VCs to source interesting investment opportunities for the VC firms in which Greenspring is invested
  • Organize events that help connect startups and interested parties, such as our annual CIO Tech Days
  • Differentiate Greenspring from competitors by developing and implementing new value-add interactions and events
  • Maintain and track interactions in Salesforce and Domo
  • Participate in other strategic initiatives as necessary

We are actively looking for a Head of Product to manage the build out of Greenspring’s tech stack.

Skills/Qualifications

  • 3-4 years of total Product experience
  • Product, engineering, or related professional experience in an industry such as a finance, but not required
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities seamlessly
  • Natural communication skills – you understand and can articulate both technical and business requirements effortlessly
  • Ability to shift between the big picture and the minutiae of specific tasks when required
  • At least a 4-year undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related field

Fund Accountant

We are currently offering a Fund Accountant position in our Finance department. This is an entry level position.

What’s Involved

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Primarily responsible for the financial reporting of a number of Greenspring Investment Funds. This position will report to the CFO and is supervised by the Controller.

The financial reporting function will require this position to do the following:

  • Prepare weekly accounting schedules
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and bank reconciliations
  • Prepare quarterly financial statements
  • Prepare schedules for the annual audit and interact with auditors for year-end audit
  • Assist in managing cash flow needs
  • Assist in preparation of fund communications for our investors, including Limited Partner requests
    • Distribution and Capital Call Notifications
    • Assist in quarterly reports
    • Assist with K-1 and tax related forms
    • Assist with LP Transfers
  • Maintain financing document files
  • Maintain general ledgers
  • Maintain partner database
  • Create and maintain an effective control environment
  • Assist in file maintenance/organization and other administrative tasks
  • Various other tasks, projects and deadlines that arise in relation to above
